    Apple iPad (2021): Release date, price, features, and more

    The 10.2in iPad is one of Apple's best product for students/personal and budget apple fans, and the 2021 iPad is even better, with an updated A13 chipset and double the storage(64GB) - for the price tag of $329, and just cost $299 for education is an excellent choice for students.

    The iPad 9 is on the way with a number of solid upgrades. The A13 Bionic chip is the new brain of the iPad 9, which also features more capable cameras.

    The biggest of those camera tricks is Center Stage, which lets the iPad's selfie camera follow you as you move. True Tone tech is also improving the iPad display, so visuals look more accurate when ambient lighting changes.

    We've rounded up everything there is to know about Apple's rumored iPad 9th generation tablet. Read on to learn more about the potential release date for the iPad 9, the specs, features and more.

    New design?

    The new iPad (9th gen) doesn't have a new design - despite reports that the new iPad would have a larger display it still has a 10.2in screen and retains the Home button - unlike the iPad mini which has also launched (more information here: New iPad mini 2021).

    Apple notes that by retaining the existing design means that existing accessories will continue to work with the iPad. The 1st generation Apple Pencil will still be compatible (the 2nd generation Pencil is not).

    New iPad Price and Availability

    The iPad pricing will start at £319/$329 - although the education price (and education is a big market for the standard iPad) will be $299. In the UK this pricing is less than previously while it's the same for the US. However the entry level model will now start at 64GB rather than just 32GB storage. A 256GB option is also available.

    Processor

    Inside, the 9th-generation iPad runs the A13 Bionic for 20x faster performance. According to Apple, the new processor makes it 3x faster than best-selling Chromebook and 6x faster than the best-selling Android tablet.


    Display

    Though the display is remaining the same size at 10.2 inches, you'll now get True Tone support for a more natural look in various lighting conditions.

    Storage 

    The base-level iPad now includes twice the amount of storage than its predecessor at 64GB. Since the starting price is remaining the same, that's a huge plus. Storage tops out at 256GB for those wanting more space.

    5G?

    Though you can get Wi-Fi + Cellular configurations of Apple's 9th-generation iPad, they will not support 5G and will instead be limited to LTE. If you want 5G, you'll have to upgrade to Apple's all-new iPad mini 6 or 2021 iPad Pro.
